What is Georgian Transferred Learnings?

If you like what we post on this blog, you might also enjoy Georgian Transferred Learnings!

Transferred Learnings is an active community for machine learning researchers and practitioners from the global tech community and Georgian’s companies like Integrate, Ritual and Tractable.

The club meets for monthly workshops and presentations on various aspects of machine learning (e.g., MLOps, NLP, Computer Vision). The sessions are led by experts from various AI labs and companies such as HuggingFace, Layer 6 and Google AI and are usually 50% theory and 50% hands-on/applied. In the hands-on part, we either run Python notebooks or our presenters demo an interesting product (e.g., Databricks components) or a cool machine learning case study. The Georgian team shares our work and is available to answer questions.

Why Georgian Transferred Learnings?

Stay ahead of the trends:

As ML practitioners, we have to constantly keep up to date with technology and stay ahead of the trends.

At Georgian, we started running weekly events to make knowledge transfer easier within our team. Since we reviewed papers, we called it “Paper Club.” After running our weekly paper club sessions for almost two years and seeing the impact, we decided to take the idea and try it out with the broader community.

We don’t review papers with the group, but the ideas of knowledge sharing and learning together still hold true! That’s why we changed the name from Paper Club to Transferred Learnings.

Stay connected:

We are building this community as a way for you to connect with each other. Today, Transferred Learnings includes more than 300 ML practitioners.

The problems and challenges that we face are often similar although they may look different. Transferred Learnings allows you to hear how other practitioners are solving their challenges and apply the techniques and ideas to your work.

Since we started in early 2020, the support and the feedback that we have received from our members has been extremely rewarding and motivates us to think about ways to improve and expand every day!

What kind of topics can you expect?
